I want the off grid bunker under my mega masion cabin in the woods that is near a lake.

Honestly, fairly satisfied where I am. Small town with mid sized university, able to walk or rider bicycle easily to get up town. Nice farmers market, nice coffee shops, and close enough to a larger city to be convenient but not so close to have their traffic and growth problems.

I honestly don't know. A part of me is definitely attracted to the peace and solitude of a cabin in the woods, bunker, or a private island...but I also know from experience that the isolation would wear away at me and eventually destroy me. I'm trapped between simultaneous needs for privacy and calm and my need for companionship and occasional visits from friends and loved ones - pretty much nobody would be able to visit me in the secluded places I'm drawn to

I'd buy the biggest bit of land I could, amidst native forest - land that was unattractive to development of any kind. I'd clear about an acre, build a small home with wide verandas,. Get an all weather road put in - add rain water tanks, a composting toilet, fuel stove, solar for computer, chooks, maybe a milking goat, a couple of fruit trees and a good vegetable garden. Of course, I'd have a reliable 4WD, two dogs. Don't even dream of it anymore. Getting on in years.

I know a bit about foraging for wild foods and I'm a good story-teller. Can I come and live with you?

@Jnei You'd have to move to Australia! and I've too many stories in my head already. Interesting that you know of wild foods - ever get the chance to go foraging? take notes, write a book, if it becomes a good seller you could buy a bit of unspoiled land.

@Hobartian I'd be up for that, provided it's one of the bits that doesn't have giant centipedes - snakes, spiders etc are no problem, but I can't handle centipedes! Yes, I forage fairly often - I've been eating a lot of wild garlic for the last few weeks, having discovered a patch of it growing alongside the river I cross on my way home from work 🙂

A private island somewhere off the coast of Arctic Norway.

Incidentally, while my island would be technically private, absolutely anyone would be welcome to visit and wander around. As an anarchist opposed to private ownership of land I could hardly say no!

A private near Jamaica, nice weather in that area BTW, because I'm an introvert I'd be happy , free and no crowds to deal with.

All of the above . After all, money is no object. 🙂

Good answer

Only male in a small island overpopulated by ovulating amazons. No vote, since I don't get polled by strangers.

An island far away some space pods to stash away in the event of storm

You don't have any options for following perfect weather year round. I'd probably go with more of a nomad lifestyle.

It's just about the housing..you can have it in any state ya want

@Ravenwolfcasey and several countries too!!
