So do all atheists accept the scientific consensus about evolution and have you met some that didn’t. I’m an atheist and I can’t say I’ve came across evolution denying atheists.
ALL science models are just that
Models
The very best idea we have at this time based upon the evidence we have found
A working model.
The model is tested, if it works and has predictive capabilities, we will use it. We will use it right up until we build a better one.
There is no need for "Belief" or Trust with no evidence.
I trust them based on the evidence, and upon the social contracts we have for truth and accuracy, the same reasons you trust the bridges you drove over last week.
Do not like the model? Build a better one.
I believe evolution as fact and I believe religion as a fabrication of early humans to explain the natural world until it was organized against them for power and greed.
It's rare but possible. You can in theory not believe in any gods but believe in lizard aliens in disguise or faked moon landings or any number of things. Humans aren't often logically consistent.
On the other hand, considered atheism is generally a side effect of skepticism and critical thinking, and so like I say ... rejecting settled science is rare. Besides, if you're an atheist then you're certainly not likely to be a Biblical literalist / inerrantist and so there's little motivation to reject evolution.
We see forced evolution all the time! People crossing strains of plants, animals cross breeding by someones design. Cross polenation ever taste a melon that tasted a cucumber?
I do,but untill it is "Proven" it remains a Theory.
See my reply to Coldo, below.
since there was no one alive in the begining to write this down and confirming the events all we can do is use the knowledge we have to collect the data we can and come to collusion to what it shows. If we find another course that is more provable then we will go with those facts if the other is proven wrong. That is why scientist continually redo the experiments and look for new ways to do them to make sure we are on the same track. But religions do not whantto know anything different then they was told 2 thousand years ago!
@Silverwhisper Just about proves,is not a fact.Science does require proof,in physics it's maths which proves 100% physical laws. The whole it can be both a fact & theory promoted by Dawkins etc is not proof of evaluation. I could quote Kosso etc that it can't be both.Until the missing Hominids linking to modern Homo sapiens are found it remains a theory.
@Silverwhisper They are theory's they can not be proven mathamaticaly. On evaluation, no one has all the pieces.Otherwise it would be a fact, the jigsaw example is not valid. There is no 80% or 90% picture.I know evaluation is not linear, there is a gap leading to modern man that has not been discovered.Hence "The Missing Links" needed to prove evaluation. If & when they are discovered then "Genitic" proof will exist & evaluation will meet the criteria for a fact.I never said i don't believe in evaluation, only it is at present a theory. As is Relativity & Quantum theory, only when they can be proven mathamaticaly will they become facts. That's how Science works, & it will be a sorry day if that ever changes.
@Silverwhisper I only used maths concerning physics.Genetics are the only way evaluation can be proved. You have not given Any evidence to prove Evaluation, & the only way Relativity Quantum Physics or Quantum Mechanics can be proven is by mathematically.I don't have any strange ideas how science works, i used it in my job for over twenty years.I am a qualified Electrical & Mechanical Engineer. Goodbye.
Atheists do not believe in any god. Beyond that, there is no statement to be made about all atheists. I'm certain (because I've seen comments on this site) that there are some atheists who believe in pseodoscientific nonsense like healing crystals and homeopathy.
Wellllll, it's still only a theory....
LOL, nah I've never met an atheist who denies evolution.
