A similar scam went around Spain a while ago. The number to ring was the highest rate call number and the scammers on the other end would keep the suckers who called talking for as long as possible - at around two and a half dollars a minute.

Wish more scammers would have the tables turned on them like this. Awesome how this guy was able to find all of the scammer numbers to flood them and render them unusable.

Pretty much the same here. Had to buy new phone today so still trying to set it up.

A lot of times my phone will show "Scam Likely" on the caller ID then hang up on them.

I received one yesterday in Chinese. lol

I have never understood why people think they have an obligation to anyone who calls uninvited. These are strangers invading your home via the phone. I hate the phone. Don't call me. I don't answer. If you are anyone I know, you already know that I do not answer the phone. Why would anyone fall for this? You can enter the #, & search who it belongs to. Send money? Here is my middle finger.

It has been around for years so has IRS call just do not pay attention. I have reported it a number of times and they still keep coming.

Scammers...stop answering your phone again unless you know the number!

I live in Australia and we have hundreds of scams going on. One has to know that nobody would ever call you from the police or any other agency and try to scare you.

Yep, must be pretty widespread. A friend and I were both in my parking lot, and as I was listening to that voice-mail on my phone, her phone rang too, same message. Not sure if it was the same phone number calling, but obviously mass robo calling.

yep, we get lots of them down here also, and from insurance companies, tax offices, I would love to get hold of them.

The scammers are relentless and so many vulnerable people fall for their scams.

If any agency were planning to arrest you, there would be ZERO warning. Then, after reading you your rights, they would most likely ask you if you knew the reason for your arrest.

What confuses me in this situation is: Wouldn't/shouldn't everyone KNOW whether there are "serious allegations" legally made against them? Like they were arrested, charged with a crime, received a summons, etc.? We are not yet at the point where the state can just yank you into custody for having the wrong eye color, political affiliation, etc. What makes someone think they are in danger? A guilty conscience?

I know numerous people here in Florida, (the Mecca of scammers), myself included received these type calls.

It's a scam. My friend Karen received the same scam call.
