Anybody else have this happen to them? Told a small group of people that I think every should one should be allowed to have their own beliefs without being judged or harassed. I'll get a ton of support about that, everyone's in agreement, till they find out you're an atheist... <Insert awkward pause here>

I would disagree with the statement: Nazis, for instance, deserve scorn and shunning for their beliefs.

As long as you're not trying to subject me to your beliefs, I don't care. Once you start trying to change my beliefs... that's a different story.

One time I was hanging out with my friends, and one of them said "Atheists are so stupid" and my other friend said " Yeah, they are stupid!" and I immediatly told them that I am an Atheist. They immediatly stopped talking. this isn't really relevant to what you were saying, but when I read what you said it reminded me of that.

But once they've agreed, they can't say much, can they?
