I love it. I play co-ed quads once a week. I joined this league almost 20 years ago.

Volleyball. My 2nd favorite sport behind Baseball. I played recreationally for years and loved it, even though I'm only 5 foot 7. And I can't understand why the sport is not bigger. It's fast moving and exciting. A great dig, an awesome set with a killer slam, stuffing the ball at the net, a rocket of a jump serve. I love it. Here in Fayetteville where the University of Arkansas is located, football, basketball and baseball draw standing room only crowds while the volleyball team is lucky to draw several hundred spectators. I don't get it.

I am the worst volleyball player ever. Ever. Ever

When I was in my 20s I was coerced (forced) to be a warm body in a tournament my boyfriend was playing in, until one of his teammates was able to get there. They couldn't play otherwise because they would be one player short. Well my team kept winning (despite the fact that I was there) and the teammate kept not showing up and I ended up playing 6 hours of volleyball totally against my will. And at the end of the day my thumb was busted and my wrists were so swollen I had to keep my arms elevated.

I really really don't like volleyball.

I still have a big like of it. My college coed intramural team was runner up. I have also coached a school guy team that was also a conference runner up. It has been a few years since I have played it. Also, being a Nebraskan I have enjoyed watching the U of N ladies win all of their National Championships with the great coach of it we have here.

Love it! Cannot play it enough most times.

When I was younger, I loved to play volleyball. While in my 30s and in grad school at the U. of Florida, I play on two teams which swept the campus-wide intramural championship 2 years in a row without losing a single game until the finals. In the finals both years, we took 2 of 3. Our team was a worldwide one, with players from the US, Brazil, Panama, Argentina, Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan -- mostly grad students. We practiced almost every day, and called all violations on ourselves so that we did develop sloppy play. We even went to the state AAUs and would up 3rd.

I am only 5' 8", so I focused on doing what I could do best -- being a very good set men, a good back-line defensive player, and on developing a lethal that curved sharply to the left and dropped like a rock.

I loathe most sports but always enjoyed volleyball even if I wasn't any good.

I was a volleyball gym rat from my teen years through twenties. All that jumping took a toll on my ankles and after two torn achilles tendon surgeries, my VB career is over. Now I partake in less dangerous activities like cooking and archery

I play sand VB once a week if the weather permits.

I used to play volleyball back in middle and high school.

For many years a friend hosted a yearly party that included volleyball activities.

It was lots of fun, until, one of our friends arrived early and dusted the grass with boundary lines.

Immediately it was all about the rules, instead of keeping the ball in the air. Instead of fun, it became exercise. I became forever a spectator.

An example of what has happened with way too many such activities because the short-minded were allowed to take control.
