What you really mean is "you pledge to save humanity". Mother earth will still be here. I just wonder what the next intelligent life form to inhabit the earth will be like, a few million years from now.

@MARDUK, that is from a life time of consuming Cows milk products & not eating brightly colored fruits & vegetables. You need the anti-oxidants to fight the daily oxidation process of your body & the casein protein in cows milk is the favored nutrient for all cancer growth.

Earth vs. The Sun. You can worship the Sun. That's sensible, ...in a magical thinking sort of way. But the Sun does not need our allegiance. It is beyond the abilities of humans to have much effect on the Sun, for good bad. The Earth, on the other hand, seems pretty darned fragile at this point. At least regarding ecology. I like this pledge of allegiance to the Earth. ....even though I have to piss on it a bit by pointing out in a curmudgenly sort of way that equality for all plant and animal species is impossible. Lovely idea though it is. :/
