So I got divorced. I am a dude so of course I got fucked. Finances are tough. I bought a used car. I love it! But this car has almost 290,000 miles. It is a Jeep Cherokee Grand Laredo. I plan on driving this fucker for at least 50,000 miles. I got it dirt cheap. I hate loan payments. I own my car. It takes me where I want to go. That is all that matters to me.

Yeah, property settlement was a nasty shock to me, my ex had not worked for 15 years and I thought, oh well, she will still get 50% I will just have to wear it. Hmm, she got 70% I did get the kids, and she never contributed a cent to their upbringing before or after the divorce.She got house, boat, car, all furnishings and equipment, I got an unfurnished unit with a mortgage. But, I did get the kids, 20 years later, I have 2 young adults I spend a lot of time with. HAHA, I won, she is a lonely old lady in a big house, sadly she is able to travel around the world every year and has more money than she can spend. But like you, I am happy with what I have.

Nothing really. I'm just stating a fact. I got screwed with the divorce. I love my car. That's it.

Does the ex have religion on her side?

@Erick67 Hard to argue with that.

My car guys regularly service vehicles that have driven 200K+ miles. And they have pictures of 400k and 700k cars that have stopped by to visit.

I have purchased 4 cars from them. Two with replacement engines.

(They pay their techs salary. No shit, ever.)

Wow a Jeep Cherokee that made it 290,000 miles! I'm impressed. Good luck.

I am a dude so of course I got f....ed. What exactly does that supposed to mean? Is this about the car you bought or what?

I’ve never come out on the good side of divorce or major breakups. I’m ‘not’ a dude!

@CarolinaGirl60 sorry about that.

@archer5691 Really, they favour women. So tell me how come men bounce back from divorce and are better off financially within 18 months?

@archer5691 Perhaps. Narcissists are excellent at hiding money and making divorce hell. I started over from nothing and am glad to be free, because my emotional health is priceless.

@archer5691 Unfortunately, seems like divorce seldom turns out well for either party. Attornies do well though.

@rogueflyer Oh, I don't know. If you have been in an awful relationship then surely it must be heaven to not longer be with that person.

@rogueflyer, @archer5691 Maybe they do, but that may have something to do with women having to have the main burden of bringing up the children.
