Was at a gathering a couple of days ago. There was a visiting pastor he shook my hand, then asked why he does not see me in church? Without hesitation, I said that I am agnostic. Then he proceeds to ask me what will happen after I die? I said my energy will be absorbed back into the universe. He repeated the question several times. My reply was the same. Still, with a concern on his face, he was searching for some reasoning. He made several references to the bible to which I debunked every one of the passages. I told him that nonbelievers are the most discriminated against and that he should be progressive and start preaching that nonbelievers should not be held with prejudice. Think I left him dumbfounded.

The religous nuts make no sense and are hard to take. I just let it go in one ear and out the other.

Deftly managed. Your street epistemology skills are sharp.

It seems like when someone is not in on the fantasy it really makes those that are uncomfortable. It almost forces them to think rationally-scary stuff!

That was handled very well!

Dumbfounded and I imagine completely unconvinced of what you suggested he do in his preaching.
