That invigorating moment and you see that ball of lightening before it explodes
I saw ball lightning about 25 years ago. We were camping by a lake on a very humid night and it suddenly appeared maybe four metres above us, glowing white and about the size of an apple. After zig-zagging through the air and heading out over the water, it faded and vanished.
It wasn't swamp gas or ball lighting.... it was a U.F.O...???
Haven't seen ball lightening, but once a bolt struck very close. The flash was quick like a camera flash, but brighter. It didn't sound like rolling thunder; rather, it was a quick explosion that sounded like CRACK. I was inside our house, so the walls muted the sound some. It rattled the windows. The delay between flash and sound was imperceptible, less than a second; thus, the lightning strike must have been within a thousand feet, but IDK where it hit.
My wife and I got hit back in 2000, fried my computer and paralyzed me for about a minute, my wife had a temporary perm and the dog was no where to be found. A black burn mark down the dead elm tree beside the house and the old metal chimney blown right off the roof. It's impressive and I still like watching a thunderstorm roll in.
