Day 2 of studying about computers via reading a textbook. I am allotting 1 hour of reading per day. I have completed the first chapter. Thus far I've learned: 8 bits equal a byte, a nibble is 4 bits (or 1/2 a byte), there are 3 types of computer numbering systems - decimal, binary, and hexadecimal, the difference between parallel and serial data transfer, RAM means "random access memory", and a computer joke I now understand: "There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary numbers and those who don't" Bahaha!

I have been retired for over 23 year and needed a hobby to help occupy my free time. I chose computers and started out just knowing how to turn it on, play Sol, turn it off and nothing else. I have built many computers and learned enough on my own to help many people who needs help with just about anything pertaining to computers. I have Windows, Linux, Macs, Android and Chrome PCs and have gotten so much pleasure playing with them and helping people. I wish you success with your learning about them.
