It all started with this question, if there are all these religions in the world, how come we're so sure we're right?
No one ever answered that satisfactorily. So I chose reason, science, and rational thinking.

I quite like that there is a mix of people with a mix of ideas I don't mind at all people having any one of the 200,000 + religions on offer - I havent any quarrel with them till they come to my door and then I'll very politely say no thanks I have all I want without a god. So no problem! we live with all sorts of people with funny ideas and we probably have very many funny ideas of our own so as long as no one is strong-arming me into anything, do as you will. Have a good life! I hope the gods (if there are any) are having good lives too!

It all begins from birth......whatever is fed into an infants brain becomes the accepted beliefs of that particular culture which the child was born into. So much nonsense can be programmed into the young child from birth, that charges of child abuse should be brought against the parents for feeding absolute rubbish into the infants brain.

Yes Matias, I would ! such as Harry Palmers teachings about Avatar, David Miscavige's scientology, The mindless nonsense of religion, and stupid comments made by people like you.

For all the similarities and all the differences among all various religions. .. any that claim supernatural atributes fail the tests of observation, evaluation, prediction, and measures. All fall apart under logical disection.

If you have doubts...question harder .

Since no two religions can both be right we must draw the conclusion that either all of them are wrong, or that there exists a singular belief that has somehow managed to get everything right... Since I've looked at the history of many and gleaned that the ones I'm aware of have all had what we'll call "Human Intervention" in what they all claim are the most holy infallible scriptures... I'm inclined to surmise that they're all bunk. 😛

Even The religious are Atheists regarding other gods.
They can't possibly all be right, but they could easilly all be wrong.

This was probably the #2 sticking point for me (#1 being automatic damnation for "original sin). Not only was this issue never satisfactorily resolved for me, it was never, like, even addressed--rather, it was pretty much side-stepped or swept under the rug. Homey don't play that.

My first question is If the world came to exist due to a "Christian god". And Adam and Eve are the first people and they had Caine and Able. So the only woman is the mother. By now as has been proven over and over inbreeding does causes huge problems. I would think in this time since the beginning of time we would have long ago inbreed ourselves to extinction.

This was also my first hook into atheism. I used to imagine a hundred people in a room all yelling at me that they're right and they're the only one that was right. Some of them were young and loud while others were old sitting in the back and barely talking. When I'd ask for proof they'd all go silent and slowly start murmuring a little and pointing fingers at each other more than proving their own point.

Atheist: Someone who doesn't believe in 4200 religions
Theist: Someone who doesn't believe in 4199 religions.

Consider this thought:

Obviously it should be a red flag to a religious person , an epiphany, that upon noticing that ppl tend overwhelmingly to adopt the religion of the culture that they are exposed to , in exclusion of all
others , that this is strong evidence that people's
tendencies are toward belief more than towards righteous belief .
