"Sorry to Bother You" #movies

Please, nobody spoil the jaw dropping twist!

Went with my boy to see this as my birthday movie... and absolutely loved it! And, wow! In a million guesses I would have never seen the surprise twist coming.

Not only have none of my friends or coworkers heard of it...we had to drive an hour to find a theatre showing it. And,once there, neither the ticket person nor the concessions person had heard of it (playing in the theater where they work )

Loved this flick and can't believe so few people know about it...have yet to meet another person that has seen it. My boy and I had the whole theater to ourselves

I hope I get to see it..maybe it will go to Netflix after a while. It's said to compare with "Idiocracy" as a social spoof.

A friend of mine has seen it, and absolutely hated it.
I was rather surprised to hear him react to it with the fervor he did.
He sees everything. Hardly ever criticizes, and usually always finds
something to like about them.

I've seen a bunch of trailers for it, but have zero interest in seeing it.
I might watch it when it comes on HBO or Netflix.
I tend to avoid popular movies. Especially the ones I hear people saying
are "must see" movies. I've learned those are usually ones I really hate.
I have very little regard for the tastes of the movie-going public.

It's very differennnt...not for all. My thing was that I've not met a single person that even heard of it. Had nobody, other than my boy, to talk about it with.

Some things are just naturally divisive

@Teter I suppose that's true.
I just have no interest in most movies.

Never heard of it. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 94% so I will ignore the negatives and might check it out. I love when people share unknown gems they come across.

Well, my pleasure to meet you I saw half of the movie, slept thru the other half. I understand some will disagree wih my take in the movie, seen the plot better done. Nothing new.

I loved it! Never seen anything quite like it. The tongue-in-cheek factor was off the charts! 20/10, would recommend.

Finally! Was beginning to.doubt my sanity

@Teter I slaved in a call center (in-bound customer service, so not "telemarketing" but very similar in many elements) for over 5 ys so it was espesh poignant for me!

Not even gonna give the basic premise?

Thought that was what YouTube was for 😛

Having an after work libation at the moment.....will remedy the premise in a short bit

Must be poison in the ink on your tattoos because the movie sucked... I slept thru half the movie.... and still saw the stupid end coming from the moment of the offer been made. That's were the generation gap kicked in... is a cartoon, false advertisement, was not that smart or intelligent of a movie. Movie must not be making that good when need to be trolled here to cause curiosity. 3 weeks ago, I made a post that I was not impressed.

Could be the numerous head trauma ... but, the boy and I loved it. The oppression, slavery, resistance, and glorified violence themes were like none I've hardly ever seen

...and, they don't grow us real smart in Louisiana (sharp like a marble, me)

Ouch.

@OtherPatrick I know, I was mean... I was going to ask him if his son was 6. I understand there is a segment of the white population that will embrace everything that makes whitey evil. Everything that shines light on greed. I happened to see the same week "Which way is up?". A very early Richard Pryor movie with same theme and was a lot better treatment of the issue despite was done more than 30 years ago. I know I was mean. "Sorry to not being impressed."

@Teter Oh the south... that explains a lot... the south. Glad you enjoy it.

@GipsyOfNewSpain maybe not just the south but more coming out of the projects and the south to reach a master of Science used in the defense industry gave me a perspective that made this story hit me as hard as it did

@Teter Hey I did 20 years in the Navy, Communications, Years as government contractor for CSC and Lockheed Martin, worked in comncenters doing cable, internet, phone support, apple support from jaguar to leopard, health insurance and credit cards support. I know about incentives and selling an upgrade. How people that can't paid their current bill you bamboozle them into a more expensive contract obligation... Sale, sale, sale... Bonus, bonus, bonus. You liked the movie, you liked the movie.

@GipsyOfNewSpain I work with some great CSC folk at GD (marine division )

@Teter Good Biz. Somebody has to do it. I was with Lockheed on Sept 11, 2001. Within days we were told if any of you is recalled back into active service... we will continue paying your salary.... needless to say we were hoping for a war quick. That is how Big of a Biz the Defense Contractor industry is.Those companies never lose money. Thank You for your Support to those who serve. And my movie date liked the movie but you didn't heard it from me.
