There are so many things about which I'm conflicted. Some are rather serious issues; some are silly. Here's a silly one: I love cars. I've had over thirty in the last fifteen years. When I've had a "hot" car, I've always had the exhaust system modified so that the notes from the pipes have that muscle car rumble. Part of me finds my doing this juvenile and patently ridiculous, but another part of me says this is "a guy thing" that's harmless and gives me great pleasure. Right now, I'm driving a Toyota Rav4 hybrid, so I'm in a more "adult" phase at the moment. That said, I drool when I hear a Mustang GT starting up. I suppose I should really have two cars: an "adult" model like the Rav4 AND another (like a Corvette or a Mustang GT) that gives me that visceral response I crave. So, what are you conflicted about?

What I’ve always noticed makes mature heads turn is a well preserved stock vehicle. “I’d sure like to have one of those” most will say … ‘back before electronic everything’.. I’ve got one of those, and have taken pride in simply maintaining it, stock. “If you ever wanna sell it” ..is becoming more & more frequent, especially from younger guys..

I’ve never understood constant car shuffling … though had inlaws seeming addicted to it. Man, if ya love it - keep it! ..what I’ve always wanted though ..is a ‘vintage pickup,’ but at the rate I’m going, the one I’m driving is getting closer all the time ..with it’s stock muffler & pipes 🙂

I love the rumble of a nice set of pipes-when the decibel level is within reason; say under 100.
That said, I live in an area where loud pipes and loud music seem to be considered a birthright, and the frequency of both is highly annoying at times. There seems to be little to no social conscience where these elements are concerned. So, I guess what I'm saying is, enjoy your loud pipes, but consider that others may not.

I think of cars like that as an almost artistic kind of expression of the owner's soul. Don't feel like being creative in the way you are comfortable with is silly.

Hey, whatever floats your boat (car) Ya can't take them with you so enjoy and who cares what people think, it ain't none of your business anyway. As for me I have a lot to do around the homestead but instead I'm out running around looking for a woman, so there, nobody sees my mess anyway.

Chocolate! I am conflicted because I love it but I know it puts inches on my waist and hips!
