Dumb Religious News Stories No.2
Half of non believers pray -Poll

[theguardian.com]

As you read this story, a poll commissioned by a religious group, notice how they don't bother to tell us anything about the methodology of this poll. And this from the Guardian, no less. How disappointing.

I wonder where I would fit in that poll? Growing up in fundamentalism I prayed to the 'God' in the sky. As I matured, I prayed to some 'force!' I faught with the 'force'...and finally...I now pray to MY 'higher nature!' And, I use some of the same words, although my expectations are completely opposite from my beginnings!

This actually makes perfect sense if you use Christian "logic".

First we already know that our version of Christianity is the only TRUE version, so anyone who doesn't believe in our exact version is clearly a non-believer. We polled the non-believing fake Christians at the church down the street, and turns out they pray too.

See? Now THAT is "fake news".

Prayer without belief is amateur meditation

Ever noticed that whenever a group or industry commissions a poll about themselves, the poll results are always positive? A Meat industry commissioned poll says meat is so good, you should eat it 5 times a day. A sugar industry commissioned poll finds sugar is the best thing you can eat. Dairy industry poll....yes, dairy is the best thing you can have. Apparently the same holds true of religious polls. I wish someone would spare us from these damn polls!

Over the years I have emailed several businesses 'thank them' for the .'self-promotional’ literature. I told them that I deeply appreciated their 'philanthropic motives.’
