Why do guys feel the need to tell me they are shorter than me before we meet in person? They always say something like, "It doesn't bother me but I thought you should know." I can see their height on their profile. If I worried about that, I'd never date.

I like to say I'm 5' 10" and I know I used to be. If I'm shorter today then it is what it is. As for my female counterpart she could be over 6 feet and it doesn't bother me if it doesn't bother her. She could also be a midget. IDC.

Because, as my daughter informed me, women donโ€™t want to be taller than their mates โ€ฆ at least while still in their twenties ๐Ÿ™‚ ..a โ€˜ruleโ€™ sheโ€™s actually breaking ๐Ÿ˜•

At least they're telling you! LOL I've found so many men lie about their height... do they think I won't notice when I meet them in person? A 5'1 woman may not readily see the difference between 5'9 and 6', but a taller woman sure will when we look at you eye to eye lol I admit I do prefer a man taller than me because I want to "fit" physically with my partner. Everyone has preferences... doesn't mean they're carved in stone.

They have a height complex ! There was a guy on here when I first joined who continually went on about his height and how all women were gold diggers (another complex). He seems have disappeared!

Glad I missed that one! LOL

@LunaGreenwitch Yes he posted a LOT and they were just repetitive rants....and he was supposed to be looking for a partner!

@pepperjones Your guess is as good as mine....maybe he was removed!

I've seen many female online dating profiles that say to men. "If you're not 6ft don't bother."

Or "I'm 5ft 7in. I like to ware 3in heels, so if you're not at least 6ft this will not work".

And, "SHRIMPS! (Men under 6ft) Don't waste my time."

This has been literally what women have said in there profiles to men.

As a fellow tall girl( Iโ€™m 5โ€™10&rdquo๐Ÿ˜‰ I get this a lot. I am open to dating men shorter than me but usually itโ€™s them I notice squirming. They say they can handle it in theory but when it comes down to it, very few are comfortable. I also wear at least a 3-4 inch heel. Iโ€™m sure that doesnโ€™t help.

It's a thing with women.

They are under the false impression that women prefer tall men, as in tall, dark, and handsome.

Because most women won't date men shorter than they are. I sure wouldn't.

Why not?

Goodness, how sad!

@Remi Eew. I'm only 5' 3" !
What's the point?
If the guy I'm with can't protect me and will be pushed around, beat up, and disrespected by other men, he's not much use.
I prefer to be single anyway and if the guy doesn't seriously enhance my life, then it's not worth the bother. I also won't date jerks who think women should pay half. Who needs them?

I never understood that either...I guess they have had bad experiences with women wanting taller men...I normally wear high heels, so there is a good chance I will be taller than a lot of guys...horizontally, things even out, right? ha

@Iam4MY Actually that can be a real problem, if you want to kiss at the same time. 5'5" with 6'6" makes that pretty difficult.

@OlderMusicGeek You just have to take turns at kissing or other activity.

@Iam4MY They didn't make it by kissing!

@Iam4MY Congrats to your family for the new addition!
