Surprised or devastated? My mother is toxic and emotionally stuck in her teens because of past abuse. I'm never going to tell her that because it won't help her or me. I'm glad that many others on this thread have healthier relationships with their mothers. Just not me.

My mom died when I was 14, she was 45. I don't have time this morning to list everything that might have shocked my mom.

I am through shocking her. She was pretty modern back in the day, In the 50's she danced in the Palladium, Latin Quarters, NY, etc, etc, etc. Rumor in the family has it that she once danced with Marlon Brando and he did danced with anyone back in the day and I was told by my sister that she had smoked marijuana in the 50's. So what can I do to surprise her? Nah, I won't do that, boundaries are important. he,he,ha.
