I have a iPhone for my personal number.
I have an Android for my business.

I did this on purpose so that I would understand and be totally comfortable with both operating systems and I plan to continue to keep both.

However, let me tell you as someone who started out with an Android that the iPhone is hands down more efficient to use, easier to use, and all around easier to understand.
That said, I hate the iPhone battery system. Also, my iPhones have tended to die at 2 years and have a few more bugs.

I prefer the security with apple and their iOS system seems quicker and more reliable than android

I am opposed to closed systems.

Use to have a trac phone just for emergencies. Daughter said I needed something better and to get rid of landline. She bought me the phone and put it on her plan. I haven’t known anything else.

Functionality over aesthetic any day.

I like the platform better on just about everything. Easy to use and not confusing in the slightest. I see an IPhone and walk away lol

There is no "right" answer. Phone quality, battery life, screen size and resolution are more based on price and "newness". In general, a more expensive newer phone will beat the last generation of phones. If you like playing around with lots of settings, enough to get you into trouble, Android. It's somewhat analogous to a PC vs. Mac debate. If you want overpriced and simple, get a Mac. If you want to mess with things or have never used a Mac, get a PC.

I prefer Android, I'm not sucked into the Apple ecosystem but am sucked into Google's. Your Android experience can be vastly different depending on what brand of phone, what version of Android you are running, the processor speed and so on. Samsung, LG, the major carriers have "bloatware" that sits on top of the native OS and can impact user experience, speed, etc.

I had an iPhone for work a few years ago and hated it. However I know people in tech who like the new iPhones.

I have a Note 8 which I like but I'll upgrade soon as I can. I'm not sure if I'll get a Note 9 or a Pixel 3 XL or a Huawei P20 Pro or some other flagship phone. The Pixel phones don't have bloatware per se but I always felt Like I was beta testing for Google when I've had them before. I've had 15-20 Android phones and I'm in tech.

It’s intuitive and relatively free of viruses.

Cuz that's what the kids got me for Christmas to replace my S3. Which, I was
completely happy with.
They got me a G7. It's okay. The screen is bigger, which is helpful.
Fewer dropped calls and a better antenna. Other than that, it's still just a phone.

I used a burner phone for years, simply because I refused to spend the money
on a "smart" phone. The kids had much more of a problem with the fact I was
completely uninterested in upgrading my phone than I ever did.

iPhone 6S and is still working. It fits all my needs. I’ve tried Android before and it’s just too clunky for me. I don’t like the OS. The last Android I had was a Samsung 5 and I hated it.

Android... My latest smartphone is the Mate 9 from Huawei (the #2 phone maker in the world - makes components for other smartphones). I bought it in November 2017 and it has been a rock star at about half of what an iPhone or Samsung costs.

A 4000 mAh battery that lasts all day, fast charging and hasn't slowed down one bit. It is the best smartphone most people have never heard of.

My previous smartphone was a OnePlus 3 which I still use at home... Really good phone that began to slow down.

Apple makes a good smartphone but I'm not a fan of their products. Android and ios have their pluses and minuses - I love the freedom Android affords me at a great price and the numerous choices in hardware.

Quality. Had Androids for years and they always got buggy or clonked out after a year. Finally switched to iPhone and never had that problem again. Current 7S works as good today as it did two years ago.

Price. $50 for my LG and it has served me flawlessly for over a year now and does everything I purchased it to do.
