I have made some good friends through dating sites, but no "relationships". But then, I'm not searching for "the one".

I just don't feel like you can go to these places and expect anything. If you're interested in finding someone, keep trying, but not everyone finds love online. It might happen to you, it might not. Keep grindin', follow some of the advice you see on this thread and don't be so high-key about it, you'll be fine.

Many times the emails I would get were literal 1 word missives. "Hi" or the like. I would try to open communication but, 9 times out of 10, 1 or 2 word replies were the norm. I would stop after the third 1 word reply. No point in wasting time, thought, & effort when its not reciprocated.

Or, the opening email proved they had not bothered to read my profile & they would call me "dear" & "sweetheart" ? & it would go downhill from there.

I'm not going to waste time on nonresponses or on someone who cannot take the time to read a profile.

Maybe they are actually not real?
