Two people with some insight into what they want can sometimes make their own excitement.

My life must be more interesting than I thought because there are a lot of things I like to do for fun.

1

My life is mundane, and relatively routinized; but I honestly don't feel that it's boring, at least not to me. Perhaps it would seem so to others, but I honestly don't give a sh** what others think about that.

1

My life is so adventurous and so full of hobbies and activities that I don't bother telling people. If they like some of the same things and we are halfway compatible, that's good enough for at least a conversation.

I remember when I used to like fun ! Lol

On the other hand, some of the things people do for fun???? Yikes !!!!

1

You might know or hope that someone else is equally boring.

Irony is truly a lost art. Thanks, I got my first chuckle of the day from this (sorely needed BTW).

I have a thing for irony Does that make me weird? 🙂

@Deb57 au con·traire This article distinguishes irony from sarcasm, and supports its value in "moving a story forward." [education.seattlepi.com] I think irony is a mirror that shows us truth through our indiscretions.

Fun what is that?

It's true...all work and no play makes Jack (or James in this case) a dull boy...??

1

Just because I don't do particularly exciting crap for fun doesn't mean life is boring. There have been times when I would've much rather been bored.

I sure can relate to that.

sorry, not identifying with this one. not true at all for me.

g

to clarify (slightly): my life isn't boring; sometimes i wish it was a little more boring. i have a ton of stuff i like to do for fun, and if i thought those things were boring, i wouldn't consider them fun! but i have no time, energy or money to do most of them. not boring. frustrating, but not boring.

The list of things I can do is quite extensive, so no problem in that department. Sadly sex ain't one of'em ?????

2

That is usually the point where I remember that I'm not boring.

Yes, exactly.

And you make the realization mid-boast, causing your speech to distort, and those around you to worry for your health

1

Good question. Gonna hafta think about this for a while.

Seldom bored. But, sure don't have as much fun as I wanna.

George C. Scott was asked if acting was fun. He responded, "FUN? What's fun got to do with it? It's work."

This is why I think it is necessary to develop a passion for what interests you the most. It is not easy finding the right thing to immerse yourself in, to envelop your being, something to you will find you can't live without. I think it must be a practice...something you have do for yourself regardless of what others may think.

It doesn't seem boring when I do it.

Good to get out and have a life.
