So I have a question for the people who know more about religions than I do. If for instance a person believes in christianity and is alllowed into heaven when she/he passes - but have not lived according to another religion and in that religion is sent to that religions hell - what happens? Will christianity protect the person from other religions hells - or does the person exist in both or will the person reach other type of state?

So as a concluding observation - I posted the same question on the Catholic Church Forum asking for their insight. Many classic responses came back. After 22 answers I was blocked the first day. The second day I commented on that and went on to reply to responses. Guess what happened---- my account was blocked for 1000 years - yes 1000 years. Condemed to internet absense. I look forward to beating the typical life expectancy and get back on the site 🙂.

When you die....

The point is that's it. As far as you're concerned nothing happens. You don't go to heaven, hell, purgatory, limbo, nirvana, Valhalla, Hades, limbo, or fuckin' Pluto. Those places are all made up. You are either cremated, cryogenically frozen, mummified, or decay, but you won't know, care, or exist.

The cells in your body will breakdown into the elements and compounds that comprise them. Eventually they will become part of something else. However you, your consciousness, mind, awareness, whatever it is that makes you you and creates your personality no longer is.

Thank you for your sensible and honest answer.

Believers only believe in one religion all the others are false so gets around this question because you are wrong i am right .

I don't pretend to be right or wrong. It was an open question but you decided to make it a right/wrong question. I'm questioning your intlectual honest....

@Stig I'm not making into a right or wrong question it's the answer that's in their books

@Stig I guess others think like this aswell

That's good one. Thanks.

None of those hells or heavens or deities exist, so the question is misplaced. You're asking how you'd reconcile various conflicting human fantasies and imaginations.

You do, however, get at the reason why Pascal's Wager is built on a false premise. Pascal's Wager basically says you should believe in god "just in case". If it turns out there's no god, no harm done ... it didn't cost you that much. But if it turns out god is real, then you avoid hell.

The problem of course is that it isn't just a question of the Christian god existing or not, but of an infinitude of gods that might or might not exist, with likely conflicting beliefs and rule sets. You could hedge your bets with the Christian god, only to face an angry Vishnu or Odin when you die. And now you've just made matters worse because you not only didn't believe in the "correct" god but believed in a "false" god.

Of course, any god worth its salt would know that you were "faking it just in case" anyway, so that's not really a strategy even if you happened to land on the "correct" or "true" god.

There is only one true religion...per person.

Um..you need to post a photo of your face, write a profile, and answer the profile questions. I feel uncomfortable talking to men who hide.

But here in some info that might help you.

For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them.

You gain website points by uploading a recent photo of your face, answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you.

Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt.

If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match.

Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others with similar interests..

In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters.
Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also.
Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial.
Points are now being given to level 3+ members who chat. You can see chat rooms on the group main page.

I understand your desire about transparence about who you communicate with. But please understand - I have no interest in dating or points - only the truth. If someone wants the deceive you - internet profiles are super easy to fake....

Nobody knows.

religions, or at least the deist portions thereof, would have to be rooted in some kind of reality for that scenario to come up. (and what makes you think other religions even HAVE a hell?)

g

We can just take Christianity and Islam. By their definitions the scenario is real for every living person. The name for hell in Islam is Jahannam. I suppose a person who believe in neither of these two will go to hell in both religions. I don't pretend to know that other religions have a hell since I've not studied them - but there are for these two.

@Stig the person who believes in neither won't go to hell because those people know that there is no hell.

This is a question that should be put to theists.
