Fewer nasty consequences. They can walk away from an unintended pregnancy. In all the research on number of sexual partners, men always report more than women do. Of course there is the very serious problem of the confounding factor of social expectations. If people lie, men tend to exaggerate, and women tend to minimize. Short of following people around there isn't a good way to mitigate this situation.
