This good looking guy came visiting my place all by himself today. Luckily, earlier I saw a post on an FB page that someone was looking for this escape artist. So I was able to reunite him with his people (although he didn’t really want to go home and wanted to stay with me).

Awww! I bet it was hard not to keep him, but you're a good person

No, I don't want to keep him. I have 4 dogs of my own and look after other people's dogs as well. I don't need one more.

@graceylou yeah, you've got a full house already!

The photos only show the top of the dog's head, but it seems to be cute!

We used to get occasional traveling beagles at our eastern Kentucky farm, near Morehead, KY.
We'd keep them for a while until they decided to move on and pulled off an escape. Some owners, familiar with wandering beagle ways, put their addresses/phone numbers inside their dogs' collars.

That's interesting. Were they strays? Stray dogs are not a major issue around here. But farmers let their dogs roam free. Occasionally, some would pass by my place or they get on the roads just hanging out so we all have to be careful driving rural roads. All my dogs are indoors though I live on farmland, and they have a fenced area to go out to. No way would I let them roam free and chance having them hurt by people or wild animals or getting hit by a car on the highway. Most people around here let their cats and dogs roam free but when they run into the highways and get hit, the owners get mad at motorists for not being careful enough.

@graceylou Exactly. It's the same in the hills of eastern Kentucky. Dogs are usually either chained in the backyard or allowed to roam..no neutering, collars, or immunization. Locals who see dogs chasing cattle take care of the problem with their shotguns.

Cats are allowed to run loose and breed at will. Luckily, we had enough coyotes around to help with the cat problem. The local coyotes are a wolf/coyote hybrid that is much larger and more wolf-like than the western poplulation, and more silent.

They sometimes hunt in packs, although where I lived a pair of coyotes were the territory owners.

Awwwww! He is a good looking guy. You would have made a cute couple. ?

His people might want to rehome him because he keeps escaping. He’s bored being left alone. Since I already have 4 dogs, I’m not looking to add more.

@graceylou Can you help them find a new home? You must know alot of dog lovers.

@Sticks48 It’s tough. They can probably advertise. It’s easy to do these days.

I can't say I blame him...I wouldn't want to leave you either.

They keep him outside on a chain. If he were with me he would sleep on my bed like my other dogs.

@graceylou well now I totally get it. I'd prefer to be in your bed too!

@JeremyTaylor Only if you are on all fours and bark.

@graceylou for you? I just might...
