I have never been more disgusted or ashamed of this country than I am today. These fucking criminals may win some battles but they will lose the war.

Totally agree! Remember how happy we all were when we were moving toward inclusion, acceptance, freedom? Was that Really less than 2 years ago?!?

It’s validation. The color of this country is green. It can be bought. I’m disheartened.?

I was so angry and disheartened!

Same here. I've lost all respect for this government.

@OwlInASack I agree with you. This cancer has spread throughout the world. I will be voting in this upcoming election but I am very doubtful that it will be able to turn things around. The damage has been done and the damage is significant. It is damn near impossible that the wealthy would do things to curb their own ambitions. I fear that a revolution will be needed to make that change.

I have been ashamed for decades, now it makes me sick to my stomach.

I totally agree with you there even though I am not an American or live there. Justice in the US is a laugh.

We know the real agenda. It's to fire Mueller and avoid justice. Watergate on steroids and with 1,000% more treason.

Nothing will change until we get election reform: Until then, with these year-long candidacies, their donors who pay for all the tv ads own them. They're not representing voters anymore. And they use religion to lure in their idiot base. It's all the same problem: Money. Remove the money, and they'll ignore the religious nuts and stop legislating for them.

Exactly

It's a good example of the failure of a two party system where people in power are voted in instead of having to earn their positions with credentials and valid experience like the rest of us. It makes everything a bipartisan tug of war because they each want their party to remain in power so they can keep their jobs. Everything elected officials do is childish and contributes to the divisiveness in this country. Maybe if there were more than 2 parties it could work. I just don't see how the way things are now will ever make things really better for people in this country. Just my opinion.

Much love from UK...we have the same creeps here. Stay strong

My family in London share your pain. Brexit is not a good thing for anyone. Again, it was the people that were willfully uninformed that voted for that crap.

@Green_eyes exactly. People voted for Brexit because erm...brown people...they literally believed that Brexit would remove all the foreigners from this land and create more jobs (we currently have record employment figures) for Brits. Jobs like fruit picking, cleaning, abatoir work that no Brit will ever do.

@Amisja Not sure I would go all the way there. I voted remain but I can see the other side. Yes a lot voted brexit for immigration reasons. This is not necessarily racist. We have a welfare state not easily compatible with open borders. Other reasons was simply change. If you are struggling to buy shoes for your kids would you vote for "more of the same"?

@273kelvin Kelvin has as oft been stated not all Brexiteers are racist but all racists voted leave. People in the poorest parts of the UK...erm like mine...voted leave. They voted against continued workers' rights, security of being a member of a very valuable trading community and a future for their children. They were sold a lie because they believed Brexit would mean the end of immigration. It won't.

@Amisja I agree with what youre saying but your original comment was exclusive "People for voted because...." It tars everyone with the same brush that you would be loath to do if it were on race, culture or sexual orientation. The white working class feels that it has been disenfranchised by successive govts on both sides. Calling them dumb is patronizing, snobbish and counterproductive.
As for fruit pickers? Well I used to go vegetable picking in my youth maybe we should pay the real price for our food and give the people who pick them a decent wage instead of imperialistically using 2nd world imported labour? Then what about the huge skills shortage in the UK? Why would a small or large firm train an apprentice when they can import skilled labor as and when? Young people have been encouraged to go to uni and take subjects such as media studies or gender politics. Not something a lad living on a council estate might be drawn to. I have not seen much encouragement or help in him becoming a plumber.

@273kelvin erm I'm hardly a snob and the people who voted leave voted en masse mostly for a single issue. They were sold a lie. Those of us who read around everyone of the predictions understood it. They voted for a Britain that has never existed

@Amisja Again you assume it was a single issue. Okay a tale of 2 people I know and worked with. Dan is from Bulgaria we worked together of a 2 week contact and he stayed at my gfs (she does lodgers). He told me of work in his home. how a shop worker might expect £150 per month, a skilled guy £250. The main employer was the local aluminium works. The drawback was it is impossible to work there for more than 2 weeks. With every mask available shit still got onto your lungs and 2 weeks was tops. After that you were laid up for at least a week, lying in bed barely able to breath.
Ian owns a small business in Manchester. He makes kids beds. They are well designed and if you were a kid you would want one ( check out "kids dream beds" ). They are made of MDMF a highly toxic material when cut. It contains formaldehyde amongst other things and the regs regarding it use in manufacture are quite rightly very strict. That guy is competing with every other guy n europe.
If it was a level playing field then no one would care but its not.

@273kelvin I am not sure I understand your point. I am conscious we are hogging the convo about another matter entirely. I am sad that we are leaving the EU. I think it is a mistake. I think from the point of view of a nurse, I am dreading even less staff around. From the point of view of a university lecturer, I just think our world will become more isolated and we lose the one commodity that we still have to sell in buckets...the knowledge economy. Anyway. I appreciate that my opinion lost the argument but every single brexiteer I have spoken to has said, hands down then did so to reduce the number of immigrants. Oh and weirdly, I know a lad in Manchester called Ian, who makes bespoke children's beds. He made beds for the Beckhams...small world.

@Amisja I am a remainer, too but lets just deal with one point, nurses. At present we import staff from other counties. This drains their human resources and relieves not only the pressure on the NHS but also allows us to underpay and not train enough of our own. This is continued though many industries from construction to engineering.
There is no denying that the EU is a bureaucratic monolith. 28 nations upteen languages all to be debated and translated from things like Latvian to Welsh, Maliese to Polish. It is rife with corruption, the common agricultural policy being a prime example (portable olive groves in Sicily).
The european court of human rights blocking us from deporting Abu Qatada. A vile man who spouted and encouraged religious hate crimes.
So even though I think on balance that we should have stayed I can see their point and its not all about migrants.

I share your disgust but at current vector, fear the war for all will be lost as our world will become an impoverished battlefield of the have-not trying to survive in a landscape stripped by the plutocracy/ oligarchy. With such a wide base of delusion (faith based) (republicitards) I am not convinced they will lose the war until our once productive environment and civilization has been totally decimated.

To the polls and vote out the sexual assault-loving GOP!!!

Let's fight back against these MF's.
