A little about me and politics.
I'm actually a registered Republican.
However, There some things that I am conservative about, and there are things I am quite liberal about.
It's not all black and white with me.
Oh, and before any one asks, I did not vote for Trump.
And I also think Obama was a great humanitarian. Voted for him both times.
I also hate talking politics, so
I thought this meme says it fairly well.
I think we have surpassed what we would normally classify as Democrat or Republican. Things have become so toxic, that it is simply now a choice between who is for the people and who is not!
But we're left with a problem: We only have two parties, and they make the decisions that will affect all of us. I can disagree with a lot of people, but they're not going to change the way life works for me. So I've got to "pick one" as they say, and I've concluded that the "lesser of two evils is... wait for it... less evil." Disagreement over something that is not life-or-death has far less serious consequences than something that actually is life-or-death.
Here's what matters the most: Reason. Can we have a reasonable "fact-based" discussion. If yes, then great, we can disagree and still be 'reasonable,' which was the case of our forefathers (and mothers). But if you have one group that denies science, denies facts, denies "others"... what do we do? How do we handle that? Because that IS a life-or-death situation.
"Here's a long post I'll take time to write about something I don't want to talk about."
What the actual fuck?
Thats why I registered as an independent.
