Reality won’t allow ‘America’ to return to what those promoting that slogan envision … the days of ‘Father Knows Best.’ We were ‘great’ because the rest of the world had basically been destroyed by the worst war in world history.. Perhaps, we were ‘great’ by default?

Now, and likely the foreseeable future - we’ve got competition! And though we’re damn hard workers - so are they ..for less pay.

There is a Party of realists, understanding our need to get along with the world … but they’re continuously out-spent by a party who finds it easier to acquire power through hate, lies and division…

The two Politicians I had the privilege (cuz I wasn’t about to go through what they have and position myself for ridicule and hatred) ..to vote for are doublessly working for ‘America.’ For national unity, health, prosperity ..and our defence from those who’d undermine those needs & desires.. They give me hope, I gave them my vote ~

Yes, politicians generaly tend to only want to appease voters fo the length of their terms in office.

Blaming previous politicians is only conctructive if there is a positive solution presented with the blame for things going wrong. More often than not, though, it is just one bad solutuion o replace the previous bad soution, because Americans no longer think long term, and politicians in the U.S. seldom think fr byond the next election cycle.

A l;ogn series of short term solutions, with no real long term agenda is why Venezuela's economy eventually imploded. Contrast Venezuela with the Socialist countries of Norther Europe who did logn term planning and had long term agendas, many of which have no national debts, and there is a distinct difference.

Talking about past glories is an unmistakable hallmark of decline. What constitutes “greatness?” Cheating and slaughtering your way across a continent? Enfranchising and empowering your citizens to ease their lot during a Great Depression? Expanding the bounds of science and understanding on earth and in space? If we don’t define the term, many folks will just think it means what they want it to mean, and are open to manipulation.

The phrase, "make America great again: is simply a false fascistic slogan designed to appeal to white etyno=centrists feeling forgotten or threatened. That is all that it is, and its sole purpose is to delude people to aid Trump and his allies.

Not really. Republicans are concerned with pulling the wool over people's eyes and profiting from it. Democrats are concerned with doing the same thing but have a smidgen of conscious. Progressives want to make sure the people are taken care of, but they're not really concerned with the greatness of the country. That's propaganda bullshit that stupid people love to hear.

I know for a fact that republicans dont, theyve shown this country ample disloyalty. Myself and most democrats would argue that america doesnt need to return to some point in the past to be great, it just needs to stop forgetting and repeating its past. Every time the past repeats itself the cost gets higher.
