The Rise and Fall of 'Christian' Bigot, Kim Davis

IMHO one of the best news stories that came out of the November 2018 midterm elections was the defeat of a Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis who was standing for re-election. Why?

God’s Law Trumps Human Law? The Religious Bigotry of Kim Davis on Display

IMHO Kim Davis is one of the most disgusting individuals I’ve ever had the misfortune to read about and view on TV. This was the born-again ‘Christian’ woman holding extremist Religious Right and fundamentalist views who refused to do the job she was literally elected and paid to do on the grounds that her duties involved human law trumping God’s law and that just can’t be allowed to happen. The human law in question was issuing legal marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Davis was not only disgusting for her intense religious bias against gay people but also because while refusing to do her legal job she was happy no doubt to receive her standard full paycheck. This was in spite of the fact that she could have asked to be reassigned or putting her religious principles to the fore and resigned entirely. But no. So she actually then, following her refusal of a court order to do her job, did a very brief 6-day jail sentence and thus became a martyr and the darling poster-girl for extreme right-wing Christian bigots everywhere. So, it is no surprise that one of the more disgusting political figures of modern times, Mike Huckabee, also a vehemently anti-gay ‘Christian’, stood up for and applauded her like a Big Brother. Personal Note 1: So poor, poor pitiful Kim Davis feels she’s been persecuted (for breaking the law). Well I don’t notice any apology issued by her and her ‘Christian’ peers for all of the seemingly endless persecution they have constantly heaped on the LGBTQ community (and others as well). It never ceases to amaze me that they feel it is their business what two or more consenting adults do in private, activities that don’t harm them or anyone else for that matter. So Kim Davis, and Mike Huckabee and Mat Staver and the rest of you bigoted ‘Christian’ right-wingers, just butt out for once already.

Personal Note 2: And so we see that the so-called ‘Christians” who are actually extreme bigots (and not just anti-gay bigots either but anti many things) put God’s laws ahead of human laws, which, if taken to a logical conclusion means that ‘Christians’ could and should actually stone unruly children to death. But their major failing is just to accept on blind faith that a God and associated godly ‘laws’ actually exist. They have never actually demonstrated that their invisible magic legal eagle ‘man’ in the sky has any degree of reality at all.
