Gracey, watching this makes me understand why I would not want an 18 foot snake for a pet. I would end up killing it when it tries to eat me.

@kensmile4u I have actually considered a situation where I might become prey to a pet giant constrictor while handling it (though there is no likelihood I could hold a 120 lbs snake by myself because that is how much I weigh). I would carry a note stating that in no way should the snake be harmed if it has constricted me to death and to not try to pry me out if I were to be partially or fully ingested. I would put the snake’s life before mine. I don’t know if my instructions would be followed but at least I would try. I’m quite adept at handling non-venomous snakes and I would know better than to handle a giant constrictor that is hungry. Really though, a snake this size only eats may be every 2-3 months. It would not always be so ravenous. My biggest snake is only 6 foot long but with a large girth so she weighs around 20 lbs or so. She can constrict me to death still because she’s so powerful. But she’s very docile and adorable.

@kensmile4u Yes. She only eats once a month. Rarely eats over winter.

@kensmile4u I’m not sure how much she weighs but I estimate around 20 lbs but could be more. I handle her when I clean her tank or when she goes for swims.

All my girls have names that end in “a”. Well, except Riddick because she was given to me as a boy but turned out to be a girl. Didn’t change her name though.
