I have had curs mixed so that only an expert might guess, though all were special, the smartest I ever had was a little female poodle, and generally had poodles till the maintainance got too much. Past eight or so years, B.B. a runt chihuahua mix has kept my bloodpressure down, and my spirits up. And I spoil her by being well trained.

Pitbull type dogs. I'm pretty biased on that as my best friend is one. Very misunderstood dogs. I've worked as a pet groomer for the last 13 years and have come across more vicious chihuahuas and shih tzu's than I have bully type dogs. Though, I'm a firm believer in it's how they're socialized and raised. My girl is a big baby that thinks she's a lap dog. Will be anyones best friend if you have scratches and cookies.

I once had standard poodle crossed with pitbull brother and sister.... talk abiut smart dogs... Frightfully intelligent.

I'm a dog person, I like all dogs each is unique, however right now I have an English Bulldog, my first and I would not know where to start to explain the fondness of this breed! There's not a mean bone in his body.

All my dogs are mutts but if I were to choose a purebred I would choose German Shepherd. I also have a soft spot for greyhounds. I like big breeds like St. Bernards, Danes, Newfies, etc.

Too many favourites but I adore big big dogs, I had a Bull Mastiff x Dane FREDDIE. He was adorable and goofy. He died 3 months after I got him and I was utterly devastated. ?

I prefer siberian husky or malamute. They are so smart, funny and certainly they have lots of energy

I am very sorry that you lost your pet, it is very painful. It sounds like you might want to get another jorshin terrier, it is a very good breed. Especially since you have a golden retriever, they would make a good tandem. A friend of mine recently got a Yorkshire Terrier too, but before that she read a lot of articles and consulted a canine specialist. She came across the article "Life Expectancy Of A Yorkie", which helped her friend to take proper care of her dog. So I recommend that you prepare well for a second dog, but overall, it's great that you decided to get another pet.
