I am not good with emotions, just don't understand them. Having a strange one at present, not jealousy, but something. The incumbent of a position I once held has just been awarded one of our countries highest honours, I am very happy, it is well deserved and and it is recognition of the importance of the role. I managed some unequaled achievements in that role that gained some press and quite decent income as a consultant after I left. Yet nothing on this scale. This happens to me often, I like to stay in the shadows, I just want results and tend to walk away soon after they are achieved. Our current Prime Minister is not denying claims that he was responsible for a particular achievement. The claims are just total rubbish as I was a minor player in the event and I can think of a couple of guys whose contribution was essential, they get no mention.
I'll get over it, just wish In understood why I feel a but weird about it.

One of favorite books is " God knows " by Joseph Heller It is King Davids story told in the first person. In it he laments his lot including " Why the fuck didt I get a book. Everybody gets a book , even that idiot schmuck of a stepson Solomon gets a book! I build the temple bring back the ark to Jerusalem....and that statue of me? Dont get my started, he`s not even circumcised! "

I like it

Perhaps bewilderment and confusion at how things actually work in regards to how they should work.

The old saying... give credit where its due. It don't always happen ... we see it not happening and it sucks. Get this ... i complained about climbing ladders to get to my job. Had to pull up my tools. 40 feet is a long way now days. I went ahead and retired because of my neuropathy and arthritis. I told them i coundnt do it anymore. I found out later that they installed stairs in place of the ladders. They're still worried about me...lol. hmm.... i retired from there in good standing as far as im concerned. I like visiting my old shop every Christmas for a free feast...yummm. plus there's a ladder now. How cool is that fear...lol.
