Okay, I'm done with this shit. I'm ready for it to be January 14th. The next two months cannot go by fast enough.

Whats the correlation with Jan 14?

Holiday insanity is over, and the kids are back in school.

@KKGator Darn I was already getting ready to be anoyed by xmas cheer. I forgot about the school break aspect of it..?

I too hate this part of living in New England. The good news is that most of the people I know also feel the same, so we spend more time playing music together inside where it's warm!

There are so many times when I truly miss Maine.

I actually like the music. It gets repetitive if you hear too much of but I don't listen to the radio.

I'm an Australian living in Manchester in the UK. Fuck the fucking dark. Fuck it right in the ear.

Isn’t it the shits? Though, I’m in a new land, they’ve sunshine in the winter! … so no reason to be hiding out inside dog damn malls or public arenas, but it’s always felt as though ‘this time’ is stolen from us.. But it is almost fun to watch them go into instant depression after what my brother calls ‘The Big Letdown’ is over 🙂

Now… if you’re on a different track … yes, I’m very ready for the House Cleaning to begin, the US House of Representatives that is 😀 ...and for the lame ducks to waddle off, hopefully not having laid anymore rotten eggs..

I don't mind the holidays but the short hours in winter sure do affect me. I also am a fan of sunshine

My favorite day is December 21st. The winter solstice. Even if just by A minute or two daylight hours get a little longer. I hate the darkness of winter more than I can ever express

Yeah, I agree.

@KKGator i fucking hate it. I'm like a plant, I need sun and lift my face towards it.

@Livinlife I looked into getting a "light hat", but they were rather cost prohibitive. Living in the South has helped alleviate a lot of the trouble winter used to cause me.

@KKGator I think living in Michigan is part of the problem. Due to the Great Lakes. I had a doctor once who told me he went to medical school in New England
He got hit with a lot of snow. But when it wasn't snowing it was sunny. Made all the difference. Here, we get clouds for months. Bleh

@Livinlife my neighbors think I am nuts when I shovel snow in my shorts. I do that when it is sunny out so I can absorb as many rays as I can. Lol

@Science-guy i get it lol. im thinking of getting a light box

Here are some replacement lyrics for Xmas songs that help me get through the mind-numbing, ear-torturing cacophony of christmas hymns. Just imagine the Lovecraft carols when you hear xtian ones.

As for the majority of decorations and trees, temember most of it really has to nothing to do with their imaginary friend.

What happens on January 14th?

The holidays are over, and the kids are back to school. All this silliness ends.

Me too, Bill Maher is off until Jan. 18th.

I sure would love to see one of his New Year's shows. I hear they're legendary.

@KKGator I ve seen him live and it was an amazing evening . Just amazing .

@Pralina1 Totally jealous! 😉

@Dhiltong -- Oh, crap, I forgot about that. O woe and bother.

No kidding..the BS they're going to try to pass will be over the top..

Do you want to talk about it?

Gert Level 7 Nov 17, 2018

To what end? I'm stuck with the non-stop christmas shit for the next two months. It sucks, and I'm over it already. No amount of talking about it is going to make any difference.

@KKGator Well, I can relate to that. I mostly am able to ignore the commercial pressure. No Thanksgiving (wife is abroad anyway and no family or friends that force me into a celebration or whatever), Christmas only 1 day (no presents and no family) like an extra Sunday. New-years-eve relaxed with a book and a glass wine, New-years-day, as relaxed as a normal weekend day. Actually I only hate all the garbage that is pushed in my mailbox. But that goes straight in the old-paper-container. What I like, I like and the rest I ignore.
