Today's headline on CNN:

Charges dropped in first federal genital mutilation case in US

I'm no legal scholar, but if I'm reading this correctly: What they're saying is that babies are fair game and total property – like a slave – of their parents with no separate protections or rights.

Now, if you're Pro-Life and believe that the mother is subordinate in value to that of an embryo, then this decision drops women down even further on the chain.

Just to remind, female genital mutilation (FGM), an even more extreme version of male circumcision, has only one purpose in both cases: To diminish sexual pleasure.

In the UK FGM is against the law, but no one has ever been prosecuted, which about says it all.

This makes me sick to my stomach. I didn’t even get my daughters ears pierced without her consent at age 15. See how they’d feel if they were mutilated in this fashion. I’m against any child having these sorts of procedures including circumcising boys.
