Dang... And I was praying for the next big bottleneck...

OK now watch all the religious, end of the Earth nuts come crawling out of the woodwork.

Their fun to watch. Have no brain among them.

This particular space rock ranks as a level “zero” threat on the Torino Impact Hazard Scale — meaning that its likelihood of a collision with Earth is nonexistent or close to nonexistent.

Yet here's the news story.

I haven't even found a figure for the miss distance, did you? I wonder if it will even be visible to small telescopes at any point.

There isn't enough data.

I read it as far as "The news comes from The Express" - The Express is one of Britain's four most unreliable newspapers (along with The Sun, The Star and the Daily Mail) and usually concentrates on reports about celebrities, how all foreigners are evil, ghosts, UFOs and anything else where actual facts play second fiddle to truth and quality journalism (in fact the good thing that can really be said about is it used to print Calvin & Hobbes cartoons). The likelihood of anyone at the paper actually having contact with "sources at NASA" is doubtable!

@John_Tyrrell Both titles are now owned by the same parent company, too. Someone high up the food chain ordering the editors to put in a bit of sensationalist clickbait, it seems!

@Jnei didn't know the paper's reputation sorry folks

@sassygirl3869 The post still sparked off an interesting conversation, so it was worthwhile! 🙂

Yeah, wake me when it is closer.
