Hey you grammar snobs! Which one?
For fucks sake
For fuck's sake
For fucks' sake
I'm writing a parent newsletter and I don't want to look uneducated.
I say for fuck sake!!! Jaysus!!!
@PalacinkyPDX, something like that, yes. Depends on the part of Ireland.
Similarly:

I login to Facebook.

@Count_Viceroy oh my
Depends whether fuck is singular or plural
That's what I can't figure out
@Count_Viceroy Is it one fuck or plenty of fucks?
Why not include them all and let the parents sort them out.
That's a lot of fucks in a parent newsletter
@Count_Viceroy Do you give a fuck about that?
"for fuck's sake" is correct
Unless its more than one fuck
Agreed, in other words, for the sake of fuck. So, for fuck's sake is correct.
for a parent newsletter
Already a winner in my book!
ha ha ha
I would say you needed some help in other areas as well...a few commas appear to be missing in your post... ...
I would pick the third just because it indicates plurality of the word, and for me, that at least shows something, if only the boldness of your using the word at all in a parent newsletter. Have fun!
Hilarious!
I would not use the F-word in a parent newsletter. Obviously, that's part of your joke.
I doubt most parents will be impressed by foul language.
If your phone autocorrects to duck, it still counts as fowl language.
@larrydotcom Groan
It would be either the second or third choice. It's "fuck's sake" if the sake belongs to one fuck and "fucks' sake" if the sake belongs to many fucks (singular and plural possessives).
I sometimes get confused where that fuckin' apostrophe goes. Thanks.
All I ever see is "fucks sake". But that doesn't look right. So the question is... One fuck or many? I just don't know!
If you want to sound sophisticated you could say, "for the sake of fuck."
