Anti choice people are not trying to stop abortion, they are trying to legislate who can and cannot have abortions.

The greedhead and pro-business types in the Repub Party don't give a shit about abortion as their women will always have access to contraception and abortions, but the Bible-thumpers in the party do really hate abortion and want it outlawed for all if they had the power to get it done. But they never will because the first two groups in the Repub Party know that overturning Roe V Wade would kill their party with the voters. It would be just as epic as the way the 1964 Civil Rights Act lost the South for the Dems ever since then. That's why it's never happened even tho the Supreme Court has had the votes to overturn it on many occaisions. It's one small consolation looking at how right- wing the court is now and will be for a long time to come.

It's an attempt to control women and subjugate them.

They are not pro-life, but pro-birth because once that kid is born they do nothing to help the mother or child.

These are the same folks that would cheer the gassing of caravan children.

I kinda agree with some of this but this makes it sound like a conspiracy and it's not a conspiracy. There are those that truly find abortion to be murder. I'm very open to prochoice.

Agreed, while the outcome of anti-choice policies probably WILL contribute to perpetuating a cycle of poverty, that's a by-product and not the objective of some sinister right-wing conspiracy. Anti-choice people really do believe that abortion is murder. I used to when I was religious. To be honest, I'm still not totally comfortable with the idea, but I'm not going to tell other people what to do with their bodies either. I think it's a moral gray area, where each side tries to portray it as very black and white.

It is not a conspiracy in a stated way, but like the old Reno Nevada divorces of the 50s, the rich could get a divorce while common poorer folks stayed married. In the 60s in our town in KY, a local baptist preachers daughter got in a family way, she left town for a month, came back, and wazaam, she was not with child. Ever since then I have realized that the religious people are quick to preach but slow to practice, or not practice at all what they preach.
