I admire Michelle Obama, I think she's a very smart, capable woman. In this article she shares her take on the politicians, heads of state, and diplomats she has observed throughout the world as the first lady.
Newsweek: Michelle Obama Tells a Secret: 'I Have Been at Every Powerful Table You Can Think of... They Are Not That Smart'.

I'm reading her new book at the moment. It puts quit a foundation under my opinion that she's awesome. It even gives more body to my conviction that politics suck, and that, the few good ones excluded, it's a game of ego, interest, greed, and dick-following egotists that don't care about taking care of the country at all.
And it's not only America. It's everywhere power and money is involved.
How can "normal" people survive these kinds of politics? I think they can't. When an wealthy ex-president dies in his nineties and a hardworking coal miner dies in his forties because his lungs fall apart, it should be a sign. But it is not to people that could matter.
What would have happened if Obama would have had a house and a congress that supported him. There would have been the change he hoped for.
I couldn't agree more. We'll stated. I must get her book also.
I also admire her...I have been reading biographies of our presidents and find them fascinating...think I will move onto the first women...someday, I hope they are one and the same...a woman president
Thanks for sharing...I, too, have been at tables where the intelligent factor was disappointing...unlike the first lady, I don't have to be diplomatic about saying that so it is no secret...
While I do not perceive any interest on Michelle Obama's part to become POTUS, there certainly are a number of newcomers up in the ranks showing promise; e.g., OAC, Kamala Harris, et al. Yes, we need to get a strong, competent woman into the office, the sooner, the better.
@Condor5 It will happen..next round? Maybe not...but it will happen...
I totally admire her too. And today even more, when she was mature enough to shake our ...uh...President's hand when he arrived (after everyone else) at the HW Bush funeral.
Like any lady, she carries hand sanitizer in her purse...
A lot of people around the world who are in "high" positions are there not because they are cleaver but because of opportunities that they have and had.
And I would venture to say many of those "opportunities" were forced, and/or illegitimately obtained.
