Hello everyone from a new member. I just learned about this site last night and decided to check it out, so far I'm liking what I see.

A (likely boring) introduction of myself. Over some 15 years I have developed my own personal belief system based upon seeking understanding, natural explanations and tolerance.
The roots of my beliefs comes from Ietsism, so technically I'm closer to agnostic-theism though I often consider myself theistic with agnostic views toward any supernatural entity.

I am a moderator/admin in a couple of religious discussion groups on G+ and MeWe. I also own a MeWe group on Archaeology and Anthropology, which I see there is a group for here. 🙂

Some of my interests are in Archaeology, Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Geology, hiking, camping and alot of reading mainly science fiction.

Now after my first post boring everyone, I look forward to meeting and interacting with the members here.

As you may have found out,Facebook, has some very Draconian rules about content,I myself have run afoul of postings I put up there, the first "Offense" was a week, the second a month,I could view, and save the postings, but could not respond,as I "Violated their community standards", some how.

the Facebook Community Standards Department, I'm on a 12 month ban in Facebook Gulag for much the same as you have been my friend.

@Triphid I'm wondering ,how are the violations set up? Words, phrases, and memes offend whoever, and "Bang" the offender's in jail?

@Mike1947 Your guess is as good as mine.
All I ever did was to express my opinions on subjects like being Pro-Abortion, being an Atheist disputing the Goat-Herders Guide to the Galaxy ( bible), etc, etc, Oh, and that Zuckerberg might want to consider buying a few megatons of breath-mints to freshen his breath after arse-kissing to the minority groups.

Welcome,
This seems like a pretty open community with a lot of different thoughts spread across it.
Have a good time

Welcome!

I think you'll like it here, and we'll like you. 🙂

ETA: I think you might like "Dharma Café". Have a look.

Looks like the group requires level 4 status, I'll have to earn my place first. I'm somewhat familiar with Dharma so I look forward to learning more.

@ErgodicMage whoops my bad, sorry! Thanks for clueing me in. 😀 you can hit Lvl 4 in days, if not hours. The first few levels go fast.

Welcome! You sound like a thoughtful person with interesting ideas to bring to the discussions. People here can be opinionated, but for the most part genuinely nice. I agree with what others have said, put your info in your bio.

I am well used to the strong opinions that come about through religious/worldview discussions. So far the disagreements I've seen here have been polite.

Welcome to the den of heathens.

"den of heathens" then I should fit in well.

I am looking forward to reading your reasons for clinging to theism, albeit agnostic-theism.

The short answer is it comes from the "seeker" role of my belief system. Is there something or a natural explanation for whatever it is people call "god"? I believe there is though I'm skeptical of the usual supernatural entity based deities that are often part of religions.
