@TheAstroChuck Well no actually, since pterosaurs and Theropod Dinosaurs were laying eggs first and they managed to somehow survive the K.T. Extinct Event then evolved slowly into modern birds then the ancestral bird like animal came first.

@TheAstroChuck That is where you are wrong. Selection works on populations; but evolution, being dependent on a random mutation, works on a single animal. If the mutation confers some advantage then selection will tend to cause the mutated trait to spread through the population.

@TheAstroChuck So, as well as being an Astrophysics Professor you are trying to tell us that you are also an expert in Evolutionary Sciences, Genetics and Cellular Biology as well.
If that be so, then perhaps you can explain why the early hominids who left Africa and entered the northern regions of Europe, etc, developed pale skin tones whilst their ancestors had dark skin tones to begin with and why there are no dark skin tones left to this day in the 'original' European/Caucasian populaces?
