I went to a Chinese take-out place to get some dinner for my daughter's family and myself.

I found this in a Fortune Cookie:
Don't be afraid of opposition. Remember, a kite rises against the wind.

This is something that we should all remember when we butt heads with someone.

Yes but a kite is forever tethered, if set free it falls to the ground.
I would rather walk the ground free, than fly the skies as a slave.

Thank you for sharing. This hit home for me with my bi-polar daughter in law. Sometimes your aha moment comes from a fortune cookie!

So how was the Chinese food?

Where I used to live in North Hutchinson Island there was a fantastic Chinese restaurant. I ate dinner about twice a week. But now I moved and there is only one Chinese restaurant and the food is not good. But they are building a new mall nearby...maybe they will get a good Chinese restaurant. @AncientNight

I don't eat meat so all my selections are always vegetarian..... @AncientNight

The Science has shown that vegetarian/vegan is much healthier. @AncientNight

Humans are NOT kites.

@AncientNight Humans are not eagles or turkeys either.

@AncientNight Your opinion is noted as is mine. I strive to live an evidence based life supported by facts and data and my imagination is constructed on reality, not fantasy. I understand the analogies that people use to try to explain things.

@AncientNight You do you, I do me and let's strive to do or cause no harm.
I am sorry for the loss of your beloved wife and partner and I wish you well in your life's journey and success, good fortune, good health, much love and happiness in your quest for life and the fulfillment of your hopes and dreams.
Enjoy life every day.

The last fortune cookie I got simply said: “Learn Chinese.” Man, they’re getting blunt!

@PalacinkyPDX I'm assuming Cantonese, as they dominate the fortune cookie market!

@The-Krzyz there are two competing claims on the invention of the fortune cookie and they both come from California

@LenHazell53 Figures! We are the “Gold Mountain,” after all!
