One of those things I can't believe we allow to happen in this country.

Anyone upset by this should look into joining the Libertarian Party which has condemned seizure laws across the board.

Yes!

You really don't want to choose a political party based on one stance. Review everything they stand for and then make an intelligent choice.

@mattersauce hence I said “look into” .....boy people get butthurt fast when someone recommends a party other than the Democraps and Repukelicans. Lol

@SkotlandSkye Nobody's butthurt, you think far too much of your textual impact. I hate the big 2 parties as well, but the answer really isn't the Liberterian Party, they're a bad joke and only getting worse.

@mattersauce and yet, growing like crazy and registering thousands of new people every month....lol. But go ahead and try to poison the well for people who read this. Hopefully they will see past your words and seek out the truth.

@SkotlandSkye Actually I encouraged them to review everything they stand for. I'm not trying to poison the well for anyone, I encourage everybody to choose whatever political party they find to be in line most with their positions. However, none of that stops the Libertarian party from being a joke. Your problem isn't me, it's that they actually DO find out the truth about the Liberterian Party.

Jeff Sessions really pushed this...glad he is gone...members of both parties want to reform assets forfeiture laws to stop this kind of police behavior...hopefully, it will be included in other reform bills that will protect the rights of all of us.

There’s actually a case in the 90’s where in California where they raided the home of some millionaire author and screen writer on the basis that he had drugs in his home.

They shot and killed him and seized his home and the several acres attached to it and in their search they only discovered a pistol and $500 worth of cocaine and marijuana.

The state sold the And property before the family won their civil lawsuit and did not recover the full value of the let alone the damages for the death of her husband.

So yeah it’s a really fucked up law that has been used by game and fishery agencies for decades I’ve seen them take boats, trucks, firearms and supposedly a few homes and properties, but for some reason the media never reports anything about it.

It’s a scam and I’m amazed they’ve been able to get away with it for this long.

It is all for profit! The whole system.

Do you have a better system? I hear a lot of complaints and criticism but never any suggestions how do we improve the system other than these idiots who want no government at all.

@Marine so locking up the most people in the world is the best we can do?
How about go back to basics? The common law, basically if you haven't harmed anyone or damaged property you haven't committed a crime? That alone would empty lots of prisons.

@Deanervin No that was the lack of sane thinking, the war on drugs, less money spent on retrraining , and the 3 strike rule. Also prisons for profit. Most of these came from republican policy making.

@Marine well a better system would omit what you mentioned and other similar victimless crimes.

In combination with for-profit prisons, it all sounds a bit scary. I hope prison reform answers to some of this.
