Reminds me of a very old episode of "The Atheist Experience" where they were discussing a new translation that changed this to "should be stoned to death." Ashley Perrien then said, "Now they have to get REALLY high."

I always found the passage in Exodus 21:22 interesting regarding the abortion debate. The penalty for causing a pregnant woman to miscarry is that the husband and/or courts determine a fair fine. The bible's attitude toward a fetus is completely different than we are led to believe. More modern translations even change it from "so that her fruit depart from her" to phrases like "give birth prematurely". The former (King James Version) suggests a miscarriage. The latter suggests the baby is viable and lives. But that hardly seems the purpose of the actual passage (not to mention that a premature birth in the Bronze Age had no chance of survival). One translation actually says "miscarriage." If you look at the phrase in Strongs, it reads: Strong's Hebrew 3318: 1) to go out, come out, exit, go forth 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to go or come out or forth, depart 1a2) to go forth (to a place) 1a3) to go forward, proceed to (to or toward something) 1a4) to come or go forth (with purpose or for result) 1a5) to come out of 1b) (Hiphil) 1b1) to cause to go or come out, bring out, lead out 1b2) to bring out of 1b3) to lead out 1b4) to deliver 1c) (Hophal) to be brought out or forth
...
Again, it doesn't seem to jibe with the current Christian position. Of course, they don't read the book anyway.

I don't give a rat's ass about anything the bible has to say about anything.

I've always maintained that he gets off on girl on girl action, given that there's only an admonition about dudes. I'd like to see God's browsing history
