Is that a bit of water locked in ice I see at the top? It's a pity we can't swivel the picture round so we can see under the seas - more intetresting than the usual landmass.

That subduction zone all along the Americas’ west coast is awesome.

This reminds me of Herman Sörgel's project Atlantropa [[en.wikipedia.org]]. The idea was to drain the Mediterranean Sea. This project would have turned the sea into a giant sand pit.
