F*ck Me, Ray Bradbury - Rachel Bloom
I always felt he was way over-rated, sorry. I do like the video though. Asimov was much better and more science oriented. Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clark both better. The Foundation Series still holds up today for the most part.
Why they make vanilla, chocolate & pistachio! I felt that Bradbury was the poet of Science Fiction. Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein had their own voices & were a bit "harder". Then we got "New Wave", Dick, Spinrad, Silverberg... Many voices with many outlooks. & Niven & Pournelle to carry on the hard & Varley & Zelazny to explore other avenues. A vast landscape with a multitude of outlooks.
@phxbillcee I guess I like adventure and pure science. There is a new crop out there, innovative and exciting. I kinda lost Bradbury when he started shooting bees out of guns. Jumping the shark there I think. The new Star Trek is fresh, I kinda like that too. I'm not dogging your choices, just making my own opinion. I was an early SciFi fan, even fantasy fiction back in the day.
My sister once found a bunch of letters from the courting days of his parents. She knew what they were so she bought then (off ebay!) Anyway, she sent them to Bradbury and they started writing to each other (plus, he sent her a book) and were going to meet, but he died before they could. He had never seen the letters and was very touched.
What a neat, & sorta sad, story.
@phxbillcee She was happy that he got to see the letters. The important thing!
I love her. Her show "Crazy X Girlfriend" is the best. I'm sad it's ending.
Lol. I am saving this so that I can post this later to my Facebook! Awesome! Totally stealing this!
Not a problem at all. I "stole" it from YT, so it's fair game. I hope your FB folk get a kick out of it!
