Anyone else feel there is too much political news dominating everyday life lately?
I’m kind of preferring to hide here for that reason. I keep feeling like I need to respond, but the smarter side of me knows that nobody listens and everyone is angry and intolerant and time and age has taught me that nobody wants advise, just validation for their belief.
I find it is important to stay informed with worldly affairs, both local and national politics of your part of the world. That being said, there are times I've just had enough and tune out anything that isn't absolutely important. The day to day Trump news is absolutely exhausting, and I'll just say "fuck it!", go about my lie ignorant for a week, and them maybe find out if anything actually important happened.
I've had to cut back on that. It was becoming so aggravating it was beginning to make me sound like a negative person, which I absolutely am not; I have a little cynicism in me, but generally, I'm a quite positive person. I especially cannot stand 45's voice, and barely to look at him, so I am watching significantly less news now.
In the U.S., yes -- because of an egomaniacal, sociopathic president, a Congress domnated by Republicans who only know how to prevent constructive action and to play senseless political games based on moribund ideology. The same is mirrored at the state level in too many states.
