"I am the truth, the light, and the way."

Jesus, right?

Not so fast my friend!

Actually this phrase dates to about 1280 BCE and is found in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, referring to the god Horus.

So if Jesus really said it, he was quoting a 1200 year old text about an Egyptian god.

If Jesus really said it.

Why does it matter? Some clown said some bullshit a couple of millennia ago that got people all excited. You can find the same sort of crap here today on most of the TV preacher channels. As long as we have a large number of gullible morons, we'll have con-artists and lunatics there to supply the kool-aid.

Does not matter much when you have left it behind, it is just fun to speculate. But you could make a case, that if you understand it and how it works, that knowledge will defend you and yours from the new versions.

A lot of the Horus myth could be in the new testament. Many skeptics like to nominate Mithra as the original source of the Jesus myth, but the myths of many more earlier gods such as Horus, Dionysus etc. could have been plagiarized. The only certainty is, that none of it is original.

There is a long list of holy comings of virgin birth, sons of god, etc, long before christianity had Jesus.

BLASPHEMY!!!!! The DEVIL got ahold of a time machine and planted that evidence to steer you away from GWAD!!!!

Remember when the evans said fossils were tricks of the devil? Now Jesus rode dinos. Still not sure if they didn't miss the flood, why did they die. Or maybe it was both things happened. Inconsistency is acceptable in their religion.

@Beowulfsfriend A Christian tried to tell me that once. It's amazing how quickly you can learn that you're dealing with a lunatic.

Reminds me of this...
