I had no idea the early white feminists had close Native American friends, or really that there was so much interaction between the races at that time. Thanks so much for sharing. not only did early whit feminists have close dealings with native woman, it is where many of their ideas on feminism came from. Our culture had always been about a balance, balance of power between men and woman.
Our entire government is based on the Haudenosaunee or Iroquois, 5 nations method of governance. Women were the Congress & attended large gatherings in order to solve problems.

yes .. I"m glad that you are so informed. Just want to say re your post.....I have not detected any anti-feminist feeling except for a few consistently right-wing dickwads. I find most of the men on here amazingly enlightened,and most of the women too!

That was interesting. It's not that woman could rise in the hierarchy but at least they weren't freely abused. I'm sick of feminism. It's a while since it had anything to do with equality. Judging by what I read these days, there isn't even equality among the feminists themselves. They seem to have distanced themselves from Jewish women and allied with Linda Sarsour.

You need to read some more stuff...from the very beginning the "feminists" have allied themselves with women who can wear nice suits to work. Those of us getting "men's jobs", like in construction, and finally earning good money plus benefits, changing the unions, the bathrooms, the working conditions,have Always been ignored, even scorned, by the "ladies"
And yet, I am so strong for the rights of Everyone, maybe in spite of "traditional feminism"

@brentan what, exactly, is "patronizing" about me telling the actual history of MY working life??? Like, one of the first 4 women to get hired to do hands-on building of nuclear subs in 1973? First woman to graduate the EB/GD/ IAM Apprentice Program? Become a Union Trustee (elected!)? And etc.....your ASSumptions are appalling!
