I lived in Wichita, KS when this was being built. They KNEW it was dangerous, however they still built it. It was opened before it was fully tested, and they noticed that people were bouncing on it and could possibly bounce off. Their remedy....... put mesh around the venerable parts to keep them from killing themselves and have a weight limit.
This family should own this company. A young child died a senseless death for profit.

Unfortunately in the corporate world, profit takes priority over human life.

The comments from the local politicians, late in the article, turned me cold, "Yeah, but it was still a good investment.."
In 'mercan capitalism, profit take priority over EVERYTHING and ANYTHING.
Woow. 17 stoies high I must say I would be reluctant to ride a water slide that high. That said Disneyland has had several deaths on their rides.

When Waterworld (the water park next to Astroworld in Houston, TX) was around, there was at least one death a year. It's like they have an acceptable death rate.
Personally, one death is too many.
