My SIL and Niece were doing a GoFundMe to raise $6000 so they could go to Budapest to, “cuddle orphan babies” at a missionary orphanage. The $6000 could have gone towards food and clothing! Just a excuse to travel.

Much of central and south America - The Mission, one of my favourite films (a short list, Best exotic marigold hotel was my last cinema trip) depicts Jesuits and indians .. I like the film for the commentary on catholicism and the theme tune Gabriels Oboe - Morricones finest evocative piece (late evening chill with a lagavulin malt) -

Doing God's work.... When I was in Catholic school we had a little box that we collected money for "Pagan babies". I suppose it was to help children in need but it was also to convert them to Catholicism.

It was so bad in South America there's research suggesting it altered the global climate.

Pretty much, conquered people are easier to convert. History has shown us that. Phillipines, the Americas, the list goes on. All in the name of “God”
