Only been a member for two hours and can tell this is an awesome space! So please tell me what lead you to this site and why you wanted to join. I read an article posted by “The Thinking Atheist” today and was drawn in by the discussions going on.

I got a post on Facebook I've only been here less than a week. I love it. The joke page is pretty good. I love all the good conversations too

Facebook mate. On a few atheist sites and the add popped up. Just interested in similar minded people and hoping to find some here in Aussie.
I'm also new but welcome to the site bud.

Hey Mike, I'm actually a Kiwi from New Zealand but been living over here for 5 years. Loving it here in Australia though

On facebook it feels like my IQ drops, on here it goes up or stays the same 🙂

I came across it on my FB feed. I almost didn't bother to look into it as I thought it was simply a dating site. When I discovered one could opt that they were here for community, and not dating, I signed up. I wanted to join because I am surrounded by believers in my family and the area in which I live. I wanted a place, not linked with FB, where I can converse/interact with like-minded people.

To be honest, I was checking out dating sites and this website popped up. I signed up, and found after a while that my parameters weren't going to work out here, so I tried a couple other dating sites. Those lasted about 3 or 4 months (maybe less), and I again realized my parameters weren't in line. It was due primarily to the fact that the majority of women near my age were looking for younger guys, and they were almost all Christians.

Anyway, I'm back here, and here for community, and to learn, and to contribute (hopefully) in some small way to the maturation and refinement of this website.

I'm a member of several atheist and pro science groups on FB, and this site popped up in my feed as a result. Always good to get in touch with people who exercise critical thinking - a commodity in high demand but dismayingly short supply. Welcome aboard, partner.

Hi Mike, welcome aboard. I joined just because it's for non believers and I've only been here a couple of weeks myself but it's a lively place with intelligent and funny comments, enjoy 🙂

I saw something on Facebook. And my tarot card said to try new things. So I figured why not right? I haven't regretted the decision at all since. I've only been a member about a week or so though.

I saw it on FB and was immediately relieved to find other atheists. P.S. I hope this gets you some points! Lol

I think I just got bored with the "same old" and specifically sought out (googled) an atheist site. So here I is.

Facebook told me to. 🙂

Anyway, I'm a member of The Friendly Atheist and maybe one other site, so I'm not surprised it was a suggested post.

I think I joined like 2 days ago and have been happily posting away since.

Welcome to the asylum. Enjoy your stay. We're a pretty eclectic bunch, but hardly ever boring.
I kept seeing an ad on Facebook. I didn't join for dating though. I'm tickled to be part of the community.

Got the site from Facebook and I am a single male, Agnostic A-theist. Welcome.
