It doesn't impress me when people use big words to impress people, but they either use them incorrectly or use words that aren't actually words.

I guess being an atheist, it would have to be people that claim to be "righteous" evangelicals. These people are usually self-righteous, cruel, unempathetic, and arrogant. However, I have learned through life experiences that I need to judge all people based on their behaviors, not their labels. Some bad examples would be the Westboro Baptist Church, Pat Robertson, and Ken Ham, but there are many examples of churches or members doing some very good and charitable work. Even wealthy people can fool you. Some of the single largest charity donors in history are people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. I do concede that many wealthy people I have met are arrogant, self-centered, and jerks, or at least living in a different privileged reality, but not all of them. The same thing applies to other demographics. I grew up in a family where non-Caucasians, Jews, and gays were certainly looked down on. I was fortunate to have a career that exposed me to all types of people, that taught me to see people by their actions and not their labels. Today I am a strong advocate for minority civil rights no matter what the label. There are exceptions of course like white supremacists or KKK groups which are founded on hate, but as a general rule I try not to let a label bias me up front. Even religious people (lol).

Yea chalk another one up to wealth, though I'd have to add that it would be how they came about such wealth. People who earned their wealth with smart, keen business skills while remaining a reasonable human being can still be impressive.

Fake intellectualism is probably my number one, I can see it from a continent away. Being honest and humble enough to know when you are ignorant about something goes a long way for respect. Don't try to come off as smart unless you have real evidence and intellect to back it up. Fake intellectuals just annoy the crap out of me, and it's distressing when I see some of them gain some mainstream popularity.

I think having money is great. I only wish it was worth what we pay for it. Most people are not adequately compensated for their efforts. People who have always had easy access to money have likely become jaded by the fact that the luxuries they take for granted cost them no sweat equity whatsoever, and are thus bored as hell with fine restaurants and round-the-world trips. I, however, have the imagination to appreciate the pleasures money can get me.

Flashy cars don't impress me, or lots of money. Too much jewelry or too many tatts don't impress me. I like tatts, but it doesn't have to cover allll your skin. Too many piercings don't impress me. Guns don't impress me, big trucks, or bad attitude.
