Communication. Previous relationships lacked that and it killed whatever we had going. I'm finding it a bit challenging even now, with both my partners, to get them to tell me when something is on their minds. I can't read thoughts and it's frustrating to know there's something amiss and not be able to get a clear response because they don't want to complain. 9 times out of 10 it winds up being an issue I can't help with, like a problem at work, but I still need to know what's on their minds because being left in the dark is exactly why I had to exit my past relationships.
